Cover art OR

[edit]

The section regarding the cover art is unsourced and appears to be speculative. There seems to be little basis for the aircraft being depicted flying upside down and, if it is, somewhat perverse to re-invert the image so that it appears to be flying normally. It seems at least as likely that the land at the top is the clouded coast of a body of water.

Per the Sopwith Snipe article, E6837 appears to be an existing aircraft, a reproduction, depicted in numerous pictures online as having conventional RAF markings. Although the roundel on the album cover appears to be the French order of colours, the other markings do not conform to the French pattern or graphics, including the tail fin, which has the colours in what would be reverse order. The French didn't operate this aircraft. The tailfin would be the reverse order for an RAF aircraft too but, matching the reversed roundel, perhaps points to the source image having been black and white, the deepest colour being to the tail's rear/roundel's centre (red in real life but, in the cover art, a much deeper blue than in colour shots of E6837). It just seems to be an interpretation rather than there being any intent to actively show it as being French. Mutt Lunker (talk) 18:26, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
